Cedar Pond Conservation Area Loop

Trail Type: Loop

Distance: 2.2 miles

Difficulty: easy

Today's hike was a series of unfortunate events. This trail wasn't very well marked, or well kept. Without the AllTrails app we certainly would have been lost. Dispite some of those set backs the scenery was beautiful and calming.

The first fork we came across we decided to go through the meadow. There wasn't much of a path and was mostly just walking through a field. This meadow screamed "ticks" to me. As we walked through there was definately bugs all over my legs and some animals not too far from us. I let Riley lead and she did a great job. Once we made it though the field I took a loot at the trail map and realized there was a part that had us walking down a main street to another park. We deciced not to do that brand and instead stayed on the loop.

As we continued on we stopped by the pond to take our picture. We could hear bullfrogs croaking just in front of us. Riley decided she didn't want to pose for her picture so she laid down instead. We got the picture and continued on. There were several times on this trail that we missed our turn and had to backtrack.

3/4 of the way through the path turned into the wildlife sanctuary where signs were posted of no dogs allowed, we had to go through anyway. Riley was really good and stayed with me not disturbing any of the wildlife. One last time we missed our turn, had to backtrack and completed the loop.
